16.1 With the exception of teachers working in ADLC and Outreach centres, teachers are not required to work more than 200 consecutive days per school day from the date of school opening, with the exception of holiday periods, weekends and public holidays. First, we asked for more information on the reasons for Alberta Education`s decision to terminate the ADLC service contract. We also collected responses to the decision of our member or partner schools. The Alberta Education information questioned the ADLC success rates among students, and it appeared that there was a lack of appreciation of the relationship between school registration and ADLC service for them, as they directly compared this rate to that of other online schools in Alberta. In other words, despite our best efforts to communicate that ADLC was working with schools to provide programs to their students, it seemed that Alberta Education was only blaming us for the unsuccessful experience of the students. In addition, with the growing number of online schools in Alberta, there would be more online schools capable of supporting the distance and online education needs of schools and students. 4.3 The employer may create and fill administrative positions other than those specifically mentioned in this article, provided that the association is notified before filling the position.
